The Australian Manufacturing Technology Institute Limited (AMTIL) has announced the Melbourne dates of the Australian Manufacturing Week (AMW), an industry trade show that encompasses all aspects of manufacturing in Australia.
AMW will take place at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Center (MCEC) melbourne, Australia from 9-12 May 2023.
AMTIL's goal is for Australian Manufacturing Week to be more than just an exhibition.
Instead, it will serve as the centerpiece of a one-week production celebration in Australia today.
ROBOTICS & AUTOMATION AREA
The Robotics & Automation Zone will showcase the latest state-of-the-art equipment and processes for optimizing manufacturing operations.
Robots are practical technologies, with artificially intelligent software brains, created and designed by engineers to perfect, produce and advance Australian manufacturing.
While countless works of science fiction have portrayed robots as sources of wonder or threat, reality today is far more common, with modern robots freeing human workers from an ever-increasing array of repetitive and dangerous tasks.
The Weld & Air Solutions Zone will highlight advanced welding processes and provide high quality interactive experiences that demonstrate developments and applications in the welding industry.
The earliest examples of welding date back to the Bronze and Iron Ages in Europe and the Middle East.
According to the ancient Greek historian Herodotus, the sculptor Glaucus of Chios "invented by himself the welding of iron".
Today, robotic welding is common in industrial settings, and researchers continue to develop new welding methods and gain a greater understanding of welding quality.
