Malaysia Technology Expo (Hybrid Event) is an international event where innovators get an opportunity to connect with the marketplace and demonstrate their ideas to various manufacturers, distributors and businesses. 2021 has been an eventful year as we celebrated the 20th anniversary of MTE amidst a pandemic. MTE pivoted to the virtual space and this has resulted in a 20% increase in participation and attracted high quality entries internationally, attracting a larger audience with 30% growth in visitorship.
The International Innovation Awards, Public Service Innovation Awards and the Asian Youth Innovation Awards were held in March, while the 2nd COVID-19 International Innovation Awards (COVID-19 IIA) were held in June, followed by the inaugural Sustainable Development Goals International Innovation Awards (SDG IIA) in October. Participants welcomed the idea of holding the awards at intervals as this gives them more preparation time.
