Requirements:This lesson is not too complicated and you should be able to follow it quite easily if you have a good foundation in math: in particular, trigonometry, linear algebra, and some calculus.
Basic programming skills would also be useful, but they are not strictly required. This is not a programming course and you will be able to follow it to the end even if you do not program a single line of code, but it certainly would be much nicer and more beneficial for you to implement the models we study here in real code and test them on a robot real or simulated. C is normally the preferred language in the industry, but the final decision is totally up to you.
Description:
Find out how a 6-axis industrial anthropomorphic robot works. We will start by building its kinematic model step by step, then plan geometric paths and optimize motion trajectories. We will learn how to properly size electric motors and understand servo drive tuning procedures. We will describe the calibration procedures for the arm, instrument and cell and finally generate a realistic digital twin for your simulations!
New bonus lesson at the end: UR robot cinematic model!
