How can we create agile micro-aircraft vehicles that can operate independently in messy indoor and outdoor environments? You will gain an introduction to flight mechanics and the design of four-wheeled flying robots, and you will be able to develop dynamic models, derive controllers, and synthesize planners to operate in three-dimensional environments
You will be exposed to the challenges of using noisy sensors for location and maneuvering in complex three-dimensional environments
Finally, you will get detailed information by looking at real-world examples of possible applications and challenges for the fast-growing drone industry.
Mathematical Prerequisites: Students taking this course must have some familiarity with linear algebra, single variable calculus, and differential equations.
Programming prerequisites: We recommend some programming experience with MATLAB or Octave (in this course we will use MATLAB)
MATLAB will require the use of a 64-bit computer.
