In June 2021, KU Leuven organized the first edition of its Summer School on the Law, Ethics & Policy of Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Given the overwhelming success of the program, a second edition is organized from 12 to 21 September 2022.
The Summer School aims to provide a comprehensive overview of various legal, ethical and policy-related issues related to AI and algorithm-driven processes more broadly
As these technologies have an increasing impact on all areas of our lives, it becomes increasingly important to map, understand and evaluate the challenges and opportunities they raise
This requires an interdisciplinary approach, which is why we are collaborating between faculties and departments to organize this Summer School
The aim of the program is to offer participants the latest information on AI from various perspectives, and in particular the fields of law, ethics and politics.
Classes are taught by renowned academics, EU policy makers and international institutions, as well as professionals, enabling participants to grasp not only the theoretical but also practical implications of using AI in these fields.
The main audience of the Summer School covers postgraduate students, junior and senior researchers from various disciplines, but the program is also open to political analysts, lawyers and legal experts, public officials, members of civil society organizations, AI professionals and other professionals interested in broadening their understanding of AI and its impact on society.
Participants will receive a certificate of attendance with the equivalent of 3 ECTS
Interested parties also have the opportunity to share their research with other participants through a research presentation session.
The second edition of the Summer School will run as a hybrid event, allowing participants to participate both on campus and online.
