We are honored to host the IEEE / RSJ 2021 International Conference on Robots and Intelligent Systems (IROS 2021) in Prague, Czech Republic.IROS 2021 aims to bring a truly historic event to represent the first ever conference organized by a Central European country and, most notably, the country that introduced the word "robot" to the world. Due to the global situation with COVID-19 and the prospects experienced for the near future, all of which strongly influence the execution of IROS 2021. Now, we are faced with many strong pandemic disease control measures, constraints on international travel, accommodation, etc. Most of which are difficult to predict. We believe that the main role of the IROS organizers is to ensure the safety of the participants on the one hand, and a low risk and smooth running of the quality event under the constraints of these days on the other. Therefore, all of the above brings good reasons to bring IROS 2021 into a fully online event. Even coming to this crucial decision, IROS 2021 will offer a quality science program as always, but this time by leveraging new online technologies that are explicitly tailored. for its purpose. This will allow for the introduction of live meetings, discussions, forums, competitions, exhibitions and sponsorship programs in online form and will offer as much online interaction as possible.The next IROS 2021 conference, also in online form, aims to create opportunities to meet, discuss and become familiar with the latest advances in robotics, autonomous and intelligent systems, human-compliant robots, medical robotics and many more. IROS 2021, like never before, will include an online robotics exhibit as an essential part of the event.
